A neighborhood mailman in Tauranga, New Zealand, takes a break every day from his route to play with this dog.
The dog’s owner, Michael Collins, has been observing the routine every day, and decided to record it to share the sweet interaction on Facebook with the world.
“Just want to share something cool!” Collins wrote.
According to Collins, the unidentified mailman stops to play with his 9-month-old pup “every day whether or not we have mail.” He says he’s particularly touched because most people find his pup’s size threatening.
“He always gets over looked as a dangerous or unapproachable dog — maybe ‘cause he’s big, I am not sure,” he wrote in a Facebook post. “He doesn’t bark at them or growl (Maybe the odd couple times he barks at people but which dog doesn’t). But this guy here always makes an effort to get off his bike to give him a hug and a pat!”
(You can tell the mailman’s done this before because he’s seen tapping the fence, at which the dog knows to leap onto it .)
Collins says he wished he knew who the mailman was so he can properly thank him.
“I’m not sure who to tag on Facebook for him to see this! But thanks, man, keep up the good job and you’ve definitely got a friend waiting for ya!!”
He also wrote some mailmen would unintentionally smack his last dog’s nose with mail, when the dog wanted a pat. So he wants to give this mailman credit.
The video has now reached a million views so surely someone knows someone who knows someone who knows the mailman?!
Whoever you are, you are delivering all smiles today.
